Airservices Australia is today launching preferred flightpath options to reduce the impact of aircraft noise over several Brisbane communities.
The proposed flightpath options, which form part of Airservices’ Noise Action Plan for Brisbane were developed after extensive industry and community engagement.
Now, Airservices is calling for Brisbane residents to find out more about these options at our latest round of 10 community engagement sessions listed here, to be held from 19-31 July. Bookings are essential.
Community feedback is open until 24 August 2025 via our online platform Engage Airservices, in writing, or email.
Proposed flightpath options include distributing flights more evenly over a wider area and reducing the concentration of flights over suburbs subject to both arrivals and departures and day and night flights.
The Noise Action Plan for Brisbane was developed to address aircraft noise impacts resulting from changes to Brisbane’s airspace, following the introduction of Brisbane Airport’s new parallel runway in July 2020.
Since April 2023, Airservices has engaged with the community on a wide range of flightpath options.
“Airservices is eager to speak to as many people as possible on these flightpath options,” said Airservices Australia Head of Community Engagement Donna Marshall.
“Community feedback has already helped shape a number of preferred options. We are listening to residents who’ve consistently called for fairer distribution of aircraft noise, and we’re dedicated to incorporating community feedback into our final planning.”
