Airservices Australia is inviting the Brisbane community to comment on the Brisbane New Parallel Runway Flight Paths Post Implementation Review (PIR) Draft Report.
The PIR Draft Report outlines the recommendations Airservices will progress following both the Trax International Final Report and Airservices’ review of the New Parallel Runway Flight Paths – with a focus on improving noise outcomes for the Brisbane community, where safe and operationally feasible.
The recommendations have been informed by our consultation with stakeholders and include suggested improvement ideas we received from the community and industry during the PIR process.
Based on community feedback, one recommendation from the Trax International Final Report – providing respite areas through runway alternation – will not be progressed.
Airservices invites the community to provide comments until Sunday, 20 November 2022 via our Engage website. We will consider this feedback as part of finalising the Post Implementation Review.
Airservices Chief Executive Officer Jason Harfield said: “Airservices has welcomed the feedback we’ve received from the community during the review process to date. We encourage interested people to review the PIR Draft Report and provide any further comments to inform final PIR recommendations.
“We continue to conduct noise improvement trials, but no final flight path changes have been made yet. Flight path changes require a rigorous safety, design and environmental assessment process, which takes time to complete.”
