Fostering future careers in the aviation industry

Airservices Australia has commenced a new partnership with Griffith University Aviation School—contributing to our leadership role in fostering and promoting civil aviation in Australia.

We recently spent time with Bachelor of Aviation third year students at the Brisbane Air Traffic Control Service Centre, sharing insights on the air traffic system and what impact pilot activities, decisions and operations can have.

The aviation enthusiasts had a chance to visit our operational facilities and watch controllers at work, as well as spend time in our air traffic control simulator for a closer, hands on experience with the equipment used by controllers.

We are looking forward to growing this partnership through a number of continued shared experiences such as participation in the Griffith Aviation Industry Mentoring Program 2019 and the opportunity to speak at University events, as well as student visits to the Centre.

This exciting collaboration will support industry growth and a thriving aviation industry into the future.
