We continually strive to reduce risk for those who use our services and those who work in or visit our premises.

Safety management system

Our safety management system contains three key aspects:

1. Achievement of good safety outcomes

We strive to achieve a good safety record by:

  • rigorous competency requirements
  • documenting safety responsibilities for staff
  • assessing the safety implications of any changes to our systems, procedures and services
  • understanding the hazards we face
  • monitoring risk controls.

2. Safety surveillance

A multi-faceted safety surveillance model is at the heart of our organisation and includes:

  • incident investigation
  • trend analysis
  • systemic reviews
  • internal audits.

We are also subject to regular assessment by the safety regulator, CASA, to ensure we meet applicable safety regulations.

3. Promotion of safety

Our safety promotion activities have an internal and external focus. We work with our customers through data exchange and biannual forums to address safety issues of mutual concern, and with our regulator to promote understanding of operational requirements and develop training aids for pilots.
