The majority of aircraft which are registered in Australia and only operate within Australia, will be able to comply with the Air Navigation (Aircraft Noise) Regulations 2018 (the Regulations), through Section 12. Most aircraft types operating in Australia have international noise certification (particularly anything commercially manufactured i.e. Cessna, Piper, etc) and can therefore use existing evidence of international noise certification, to demonstrate compliance with the Regulations.
The Deemed self-service portal below has been developed to assist users in determining their compliance with the Regulations.
Please be aware that the Deemed self-service portal does not retain any information. Prior to commencing the portal, we recommend that you have:
- the full details of your aircraft’s configuration
- the up-to-date Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM) or Pilot Operating Handbook (POH), including incorporating all updates and supplements.
If you have questions or feedback on the Deemed self-service portal, please contact the Aircraft Noise Assessment team by email. A library of Frequently Asked Questions is also available to assist you.
