Account Holders

When you register with Airservices Australia you provide a username and password that can later be used to log on to our secure facilities.

It is your responsibility to protect your password from disclosure to unauthorised individuals.

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your password and shared secrets;
  • Changing your password on a r egular basis;
  • Contacting us if your password becomes known to unauthorised personnel;
  • Contacting us to change your password if personnel who know the password leave the organisation;
  • Contacting us if your username, password or shared secrets have been lost, stolen or otherwise compromised; and
  • Logging out at the end of each session.

The effective management and security of this website requires that usage may be monitored and analysed for evidence of misuse and attempted or actual security breaches. The Pilot Briefing Services section and the Publications Centre section are the only areas of the site using cookies. These cookies are session-based, storing your user name and ID for the duration of the session. The Publications Unit Online Store

Privacy

When purchasing or registering for items from the Publications Unit, we require your ARN (Aviation Reference Number), your name, your mailing address and a contact phone number. This personal information will be added to Airservices Australia's Publications Unit database. It will be used to maintain your personal details record, process your order, recover the costs of the services you have authorised, and, from time to time, provide you via Airservices Australia's mailing contractor, with information about other Airservices Australia's activities and/or products in which you may have an interest. Personal information you provide to Airservices Australia will be used solely for the purposes outlined above, and will neither be used for any other purpose, nor disclosed to another party without your prior consent.

Security

Your purchase can be made online. Your credit card details will be transmitted through Airservices Australia 's credit card service provider to our bank to process your transaction. Credit card details are not stored by Airservices Australia at any time during this transaction. Airservices Australia uses 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) security technology. National Aeronautical Information Processing Systems (NAIPS)

Privacy

Personal information supplied by pilots and associated support personnel wishing to register/make enquiries on the NAIPS Internet Briefing Service is added to NAIPS' registration database. It is used to contact you about briefing services and forward relevant information. This information is provided to Commonwealth agencies managing aviation security related coordination and operations centres. Airservices will neither use the personal information for any other purpose, nor disclose it to any other party without your consent.

Security

Airservices Australia uses 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) security technology on NAIPS pages which collect personal information. SSL is cryptography technology which uses codes to encrypt personal details sent over the Internet. SSL technology encrypts these details, producing an encoded string of characters and symbols. SSL technology will detect and reject any message that has been compromised. If you do not wish to provide your personal details over the Internet, you can alternatively access the Dial in Pilot Service through the Telstra DialConnect Network. Flight Data

Airservices Australia collects flight data which includes your name, address and aircraft registration details.  We will store flight data on Airservices Australia 's internal databases.  We will use flight data for the following purposes:

  • maintaining currency of aircraft user information;
  • monitoring aircraft movements; and
  • assessing aircraft charges.

We will release your details to those persons and entities which collect aircraft charges on behalf of airport owners.  We will not use flight data for any other purpose without your express permission.

 

Email Transactions

Airservices Australia has the facilities to accept email correspondence. Certain transactions that require identification of an individual (e.g Freedom of Information applications) must be conducted by facsimile if desired to be transacted electronically. You should confirm with the relevant area of Airservices Australia .

Replies from Airservices Australia will be directed to the email address from which the communication was sent unless an alternative email address or form of communications is specified.

Airservices Australia employs an email content management system to scan all incoming and outgoing email. Attachments of an executable nature are stripped off all incoming email in order to comply with our computer security policies. The receipt of all other attachments types is logged by the system for future reference if required.

Data Formats

Airservices Australia currently employs PMDF, Microsoft Exchange Server and MS Outlook in its email system. These systems enable Airservices Australia to process the vast majority of modern email types and attachments. Attachment types can be any standard format, including but not limited to MS Office, Word Perfect, JPG, GIF, BMP, MPEG, AVI etc. It is corporate security policy within Airservices Australia to strip all common executable formats, including but not limited to .exe, .vbs, .bat, .pif etc. Please note that the receipt and dispatch of image and multimedia files is recorded by the system as they are received should any complaint regarding their content be raised.

Total incoming message size (including headers & attachments) is limited to 4Mb. Encryption of attachments, if used, should be discussed with the intended recipient before sending, however, PGP or any self-extractive archive is preferred. Facsimile Transactions

Airservices' fax machines use A4 paper and print in black not colour.
