How Air Traffic Management has Traditionally Worked
We are responsible for the management of aircraft within Australian airspace, on the ground and in the air. Traditionally for safety reasons this airspace has been compartmentalised so that aircraft on the ground, in the airspace around the airport, in transit between cities, or to and from Australia were managed separately.
We are introducing better air traffic management practices using new world leading technologies and practices. Through Gate to Gate management Airservices Australia is helping to reduce the time you spend getting from airport to airport. This not only increases your travel comfort but also has impacts on safety and the environment as well.
