E-Change Program
Building on a range of environmental measures already in place, we launched the E-change program on World Environment Day 2007.
We have already implemented an ISO 14001 certified Environmental Management System at two sites, and introduced a carbon offset scheme for the vehicle emissions from senior managers and the fire fighting services.
The targets of the program fall into four key areas:
- Reduction:Minimising our consumption of electricity, water, paper, fuel and other resources.
- Offsets: Some parts of the business are essential, particularly Aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting training and some air and road travel. Tree planting through our Greenfleet subscription and other initiatives help offset the impact of unavoidable emissions.
- Monitoring and Reporting the usage of energy, water, paper, and waste production and CO2 emissions.
- Culture:Creating a more environmentally aware and committed culture across the organisation.
The E-change program will be supported with an audit of our environmental performance to establish the organisation’s baseline and identify the most important opportunities for improvement.
